Brandy here bringing you the first post about "What Inspires Me". It is my plan to have a few of us from my creative team to make a monthly blog post about what inspires us, whether it is a particular magazine, home decor, photography, etc. I hope to learn different perspectives of what might inspire one to eat well, exercise, dress well, decorate their home or do a particular craft. Not only what might inspire us, but give others direction to locations that we find inspiring.
So, with this post, I want to share a magazine with you that inspires me daily. I have always loved looking through magazines while standing in line at the grocery store, while sitting outside on the porch or before going to bed. In the past, I always picked up the latest gossip magazine to see what was going on with the celebrity life, but lately I've grown to love other Magazines.
Better Homes and Gardens is probably one of my favorites now. It is full of Inspiration. I love this magazine because they have a lot of tips on gardening (a new passion of my husband's), delicous recipes, home crafts and the magazine is filled full of color and has great organizational tips and ideas.
Lately, anytime I start to design a particular kit, I skim through my many Better Homes and Gardens magazines for color inspiration and ideas. I love looking through the garden section for natural plant colors, looking through the home decor section to find colors in a quilt or a color scheme of a room, etc. Once I find the right colors I am looking for, my mind starts rolling with ideas of a kit.
So, if you are ever stumped on color, I highly suggest that you pick up the magazine or browse though it while standing in line at the grocery store. You may find something else in there that will inspire you to do something else.
