Well, it has been almost 5 weeks and I’m still going strong, so I thought I would share with you an accomplishment that I've made, the impossible for me.

I was reading
Amanda’s post from the infamous Kevin and Amanda blog and it really got me inspired. I bet if you read through it as well, it would have the same effect on you. She talks about how she lost 30lbs and the steps she took to get there. She looks great too, btw. Not that she didn't already, but she just has a glow of health to her. Anyway, Kroger (where I grocery shop) had Lean Cuisines on sale at the time I read this post and I went out and stocked my freezer up. I’ve eaten one for every lunch so far and still have a freezer full. I've started eating a lot of fresh vegetables and fruits. I've also started eating breakfast, which is something that I didn't do a lot before. Not a big breakfast, just something like oatmeal and an apple, something fast and easy so that I can eat it while at work because I enjoy my sleep too much to wake up and cook breakfast at home.
I started counting my calories on Jan. 18th through Calorie Count. Calorie Count helped me realize how many calories are in a serving of foods.

They also have a great community and I love reading their blog everyday. It just helps keep you motivated and on track. and I searched the web on ways to learn to run and came across
this great weekly program from the running planet website. It is an 8-week program for beginning running. I am ending week 5 now. I am probably the most non athletic person there is. I hate to exercise and I never thought I could do this, but I was bound and determined to give it a try.

Believe it or not, I find myself pushing myself and talking myself to keep running when I want to give up. When I am done with my 30 minutes, I feel so proud of myself. I am accomplishing something that I just knew I couldn’t. It feels great. I have only lost 5 pounds in 5 weeks, but I can tell a huge difference in the way my clothes fit me. I am sure that I am losing fat and gaining muscle, which weighs more, therefore, would explain the slow weight loss.
According to Calorie Count, I will reach my goal weight in September, the 15th to be exact. (chuckle) That seems like so far away, but at least I know that I am doing it the healthy way and that I can continue with it the rest of my life. I don’t feel deprived and I get to eat a lot of great tasting foods with variety.
Now that I've made it this far, there are a few more goals that I need to make. I need to drink more water, at least 64 ounces a day. This will be hard, but I can do it. I also need to take my vitamins. My doctor prescribed a vitamin cocktail that I need to remember to take every day. It will supposedly help me with my energy levels, my immune system and my metabolism. Now, if only I can remember to take this cocktail.
I'll update you in another 4-5 weeks on my progress and to let you know if I was able to meet my goals mentioned above. Wish me luck!
Now on to my scrap pages. I have two to share with you. This first one is of my kids and husband leaving the metro rail at Washington D.C. The escalator was forever long and steep! I used the new collab I have out with Edeline Marta called "Serentiy".
The picture on this page is of me at my Trash the Dress photo session. My original wedding pictures were not that great. I got married in 1998 and taking pictures outside was not popular and the photography wasn't as good as it is today, so I decided for my 10 year anniversary, I would have pictures taken of me in my wedding dress with my husband. It was so much fun!
That's it for this weekend! I hope everyone is having a good one and staying warm. :)
