Rafting

When we went to the beach this past summer, we went with about 10 families. There were a bunch of us there! We always stay in this very small hotel that has outdoor hallways and we always sit out there in the evening and party. It is a lot of fun and we are so lucky that all of us can get together each year. This particular year, my middle son got over his fear of heights and sharks. Right before our beach trip, we went to Carowinds and Hunter decided it was time for him to ride the big rides. He had an absolute blast! So, when we got to the beach, he decided he wanted to go rafting with the rest of the kids this time (last year, he set out and watched). He had so much fun. I am so happy he was able to conquor two of his fears in one week! :)

I created this page of him and the rest of the group of kids, rafting.

Sunsets

Here lately, there has been a lot of beautiful sunsets in my neck of the woods. They are breathtaking. The kind that make you stop everything you are doing and just stare, then close your eyes and dream. I just had to take pictures of a few of them. In the first two pictures, we were going down the river in our boat. It was the most relaxing ride ever.

Know what you want to do, hold the thought firmly, and do every day what should be done, and every sunset will see you that much nearer the goal. - Elbert Hubbard

This next picture was during my son's baseball game. This game happened to be the longest game I've ever witnessed in little league baseball. It took them 3 hours to play and they had to call it off at the beginning of the 5th inning because it was 9pm on a weekday. But, the view was incredible! It looks like it was the light to heaven.

Peace... is seeing a sunset, and knowing who to thank. - Unknown

Camping on the Lake

At the beginning of September, we went camping with a bunch of friends. There were 6 families that went. We camped, ate and boated. This trip was the trip that talked RJ and I into buying a boat for ourselves. It was the best purchase we've made in a long time. I love boating. I love spending the evenings on the river, watching the sunset. I love pulling the kids on the tube behind us and I love riding the tube myself. It is so much fun! It is a great way to spend good quality family time because we are all stuck on this boat together. We bring lunch and doc the boat on the manmade beaches on the side of the river to eat and play. I love it!

Anyway.. I got off track. During our camping trip about a month ago, we were at the most beautiful lake I have ever seen and it is in my home state of WV! Isn't it gorgeous?

Summersville Lake.

We tied 5 boats together to dock. We jumped off of rocks, swam and grilled out on our boats. It was so much fun! Here are a couple of pictures.

Here are a few pages to document our trip. I'm sure there will be many more to come. :)
